This attack deals heavy damage on a direct hit and has a very long, but narrow range of impact. Tail Slam - Almudron turns its back towards a hunter and then quickly pushes its entire lower body off the ground, sending its tail slamming down in a straight line towards its target. Tail Sweep - Almudron takes up a wind-up stance, turning its back to hunters and pulling its tail to one side and then flings it in a large arc in the other direction, hurling away any hunters that get caught in its path. The long wind-up should give you enough time to dodge away. It often follows up with a second, much quicker bite. ![]() Lunge - Almudron pulls its head back briefly and then lunges forward for a quick bite. Another follow-up attack it uses is the Tail Sweep, telegraphed by winding its tail on one side and flinging it in a large arc in the other direction. Dodge towards and underneath the raised arm or backwards in the opposite diagonal direction to avoid the attack. It will often follow this up with a second claw swipe from its other claw. Focus on breaking the Giant Mud Ball when Almudron creates it for a guaranteed extended knockdown.Avoid mud pockets, especially when it is enraged as they deal strong damage-over-time.When partially submerged, the gap between its tail and upper body is relatively safe while allowing you to attack its head or tail.Its tail can be severed but requires it to be broken beforehand.
